Maurice Ward Art Handling is a business unit of Maurice Ward Co. Ltd. In 2008, the Directors, Mary Mc Loughlin and John Ward, due to their involvement and interest in the contemporary visual arts, as well as, a demand from clients, set up a specialist unit engaged in Fine Art Handling and transport. Maurice Ward Art Handling is an internationally accredited fine art logistics company.

“Our primary base of operations is from a modern office/warehouse unit located in Dublin, Ireland. We have a secondary location in Shannon, that serves the West and Mid-West of the country. In 2013, we opened up an Art Handling branch in Budapest, Hungary.

Maurice Ward Art Handling have built a team of experts in art handling, shipping coordinators, drivers, technicians, customs and international transport which deliver a wide range of services to artists, collectors, galleries, corporates, auction houses, heritage organisations and museums.

Over the last decade, we have seen all sorts of artworks come through our hands. The movement of art related goods involves everything from straight forward logistics to complex, travelling exhibitions, transporting precious items safely by air, road or ocean,said Mary Mc Loughlin.

Did you know?

The first ever ‘cargo only’ flight was recorded in November 1910 in the USA, using a Wright Model B aeroplane that flew 65 miles carrying a package of silk. The business owner used the pioneering transport more as a PR stunt to celebrate the opening of his store, with the bundle of silk cut into individual pieces and glued onto souvenir postcards.
