GDP certification is a globally recognized standard that sets out guidelines for the proper distribution of medicinal products for human use and covers all aspects of the supply chain, from storage and transportation to handling and documentation. It is designed to ensure that pharmaceutical products are consistently stored, transported, and handled in a manner that preserves their quality, safety, and efficacy.
“We are thrilled to have received GDP certification, which is a testament to our ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality services to our customers,” said Boryana Atanasova, country manager for MW Bulgaria. “This certification demonstrates our dedication to upholding the highest standards of quality and compliance in the healthcare industry, and we are proud to be recognized for our efforts.”
MW Bulgaria has been engaged in the logistics processing of pharmaceutical products and materials for several years now, currently offering deliveries by road, air, and sea locally in Bulgaria and worldwide.
“We also assist our customers with customs representation and cold storage facilities, where they could temporarily store their shipments”,– says Tsvetelin Ivanov, who is primarily responsible for managing pharmaceutical shipments, along with the implementation of the SOPs, haulers’ evaluation, customer care and leading a team of professionals,-“In a highly dynamic market situation such as we are in today, influenced by high inflation and other economic factors, the doors to success lie where others see a dead end. Flexibility, professionalism, and an individual approach are our keys to opening these doors. That’s why we are constantly trying to increase our list of reliable subcontractors so that we can be competitive and offer our customers fast and adequate logistical solutions.”
As a GDP-certified company, Maurice Ward Group is now equipped to better serve its customers in the healthcare industry, including pharmaceutical manufacturers, hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies. The first ever ‘cargo only’ flight was recorded in November 1910 in the USA, using a Wright Model B aeroplane that flew 65 miles carrying a package of silk. The business owner used the pioneering transport more as a PR stunt to celebrate the opening of his store, with the bundle of silk cut into individual pieces and glued onto souvenir postcards.

As one of Europe’s key maritime gateways, the Port of Hamburg plays a central role in international supply chains. Supporting cargo flows through this major hub, our German customs team ensures that shipments moving through Hamburg are handled with efficiency and full visibility.
The German port system has recently transitioned to a new release process known as Secure Release Order (SRO). SRO is a new digital, PIN-free, mandatory process for import container releases at major German seaports: Hamburg, Bremerhaven, and Wilhelmshaven, introduced to prevent container thefts and smuggling.
