At the end of July, Country Managers from across the UK & Benelux region came together at our local office in Antwerp for their second regional meeting.
The meeting focused on the new Maurice Ward Group structure, including how responsibilities are developing, how different roles connect and how each function can better support our offices and customers.
The team also discussed the individual markets, strengths, challenges and opportunities within the region. They explored what each country needs, how knowledge and resources can be shared and where stronger cooperation can create greater value. The face-to-face meeting provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships, exchange ideas and identify new possibilities for growth.
The meeting brought together Country Managers Martin Klijn (NL), Gagan Singh (UK) and Nancy Verstraeten (BE), with Nancy and her local team hosting the two-day visit at the Antwerp office.
There was also time for some friendly competition, with Bart Debacker (Manager Sales & Operations Sea) claiming victory in the table tennis match!
The team now looks forward to turning the ideas discussed in Antwerp into action and continuing to strengthen collaboration across the UK & Benelux region.
The first ever ‘cargo only’ flight was recorded in November 1910 in the USA, using a Wright Model B aeroplane that flew 65 miles carrying a package of silk. The business owner used the pioneering transport more as a PR stunt to celebrate the opening of his store, with the bundle of silk cut into individual pieces and glued onto souvenir postcards.
Recently, Maurice Ward Budapest took part in PharmaLog 2026, organised by NavigátorVilág. Pharma Account Manager Gábor Flórián represented Maurice Ward & Co. in an expert panel on pharmaceutical air freight, sharing practical experience and highlighting our expertise in this specialised sector.
On 15 July 2026, the UK–India Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement came into force. Trade between the two countries was worth approximately £48 billion in 2025.
Maurice Ward Ireland continues to strengthen its commitment to quality, compliance, and operational excellence through the successful renewal and achievement of important industry certifications.
