Welcome to our
Rome logistics hub

October 6, 2022

The opening of this latest location in Rome marks the third branch office to be opened by the Maurice Ward Group in Italy, making sure we reach the entire country from Milan, Turin and now also Rome.

We are located close to the Fiumicino Intercontinental Airport, a key airport for cargo-handling in Central and Southern Italy, guaranteeing a direct link with the entire world. In addition to air transport, sea transport is also available just a few kilometres away, through the port of Civitavecchia. Moreover, the motorway junction, currently in construction, will connect to the Centre of Rome and to the entire country. A true international hub.

Italy’s freight and logistics markets ranks relatively highly on a global scale. The country has a highly developed and efficient network, particularly in the Northern and Central regions and a large domestic and international market due to its strategic position in the center of Europe.

Our new office offers multimodal transportation solutions tailored to your individual needs. We mix the agility of air transportation, the adaptability of dedicated inland solutions and the cost-consciousness and de-carbonization of ocean shipping to provide both LCL and FCL options. Our local presence in the center of Italy will add to the Maurice Ward Group’s footprint to develop air and sea market in the next years.

In addition, we are also focusing on developing our pharma and perishable business unit with our specialized team in the pharma industry with a strong know-how in the cold chain active and passive. In Rome, for example, we can provide a cold chain facility to support the market for export and import business. Our outsourced temperature-controlled storage is available for your fresh, dried and frozen perishables, even at very short notice. We ensure your perishables are handled with great care and to the highest standard of ISO 9001 and 50001 certifications.

Another business unit we are currently expanding is Art logistics. We have movers dedicated to among others Multinational companies present on the Italian territory. We also offer last minute hand-carry courier service dedicated to the fashion industry.

With more than 50 years of experience, the Maurice Ward Group is for players seeking both excellence and innovation. The advantages we offer are among others an increased transportation capacity, reduced costs, faster transit times and a smaller carbon footprint. We guarantee seamless, flexible and secure operations, even when shipping large volumes.

Did you know?

The first ever ‘cargo only’ flight was recorded in November 1910 in the USA, using a Wright Model B aeroplane that flew 65 miles carrying a package of silk. The business owner used the pioneering transport more as a PR stunt to celebrate the opening of his store, with the bundle of silk cut into individual pieces and glued onto souvenir postcards.

Everything you need to know about Green Logistics

Online sales and delivery services have increased in the past few years, which makes more people buy their daily needs online. Sometimes these purchases need to be transferred from one country to another, resulting in longer supply chain and more logistics. All these operations affect the environment causing emissions and pollution rates.
