The United Kingdom (UK) is out of the European Union (EU). After difficult negotiations lasting more than 2 years, the UK officially left the EU on January 31st 2020. Since then, the UK and the EU have long negotiated the future relationship that entered into force on January 1st 2021. Negotiations have been difficult and, in the end, they ended in a limited agreement.

The ICC Incoterms® 2020 are here! This new version was launched at the end of 2019. The ICC determines a new set of Incoterms every 10 years in consultation with the business community.

The European Union and the United Kingdom signed a free trade agreement on December 24, 2020. From January 1, 2021, different rules will apply when doing business with the UK. You will have to deal with customs obligations, such as import and export declarations, inspections, export certificates and export documents.
